Swedish House Mafia, a house music supergroup held their last United Kingdom show in July 2012 on the farewell tour. Scenes from this performance were seen in their music video "Don't You Worry Child", which was their final single. On 5 June 1993, Metallica Performed the final leg of their Wherever I May Roam Tour. It was named the Nowhere Left to Roam. In 1992, Sony/Pace purchased the venue; it was rebranded as the National Bowl and a permanent large soundstage was built.

In 200, English Partnerships, which incorporated with the Communities Agency as well as Homes, bought the site. Currently, it is leased to a consortium of Gaming International and Live Nation UK. The initial stage was demolished in the year 2012 to make space for a new stage in time for the July Swedish House Mafia concert. Catering as well as medical facilities are available for all the events. There are licenced stalls selling food and bars for those who would like to drink.
